In our most successful competition to date, which included a women's tournament for the first ever time, we had more than 120 players across 11 mixed and 4 women's teams. It was the coaches and parents from the U9 Spitfires team that came out victorious in the mixed tournament, while the U10 Vulcans mums lifted the women's trophy.
Through donations from the players and supporters on the day, combined with further donations from local companies The Seven Woods, United Utilities and Barclays, we raised more than £2,300 for William's Gift.
William’s Gift was set up by Jane and Dave Fenton, from Callands following their own experience of spending many months at a time in hospital with William, before he sadly lost his battle. Through Wiliam’s Gift, the couple now help local families in similar situations by providing care packages to children and their families spending time at the Children’s Ward at Warrington’s Hospital, as well as Alder Hey and Royal Manchester children’s hospitals.
